		<description>I am your friendly neighborhood heretic.  While inwardly, I submit to the will of Allah, and when I pray, I pray to Allah, and I believe in the ONE, the Only Being, I am also an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, a Bible scholar, and writer of commentary.
If I could read Arabic, I would certainly read the Koran.  I mistrust English translations, as those I have tried reading were too much of a cultural disconnect between the Prophet&#039;s culture and ours.
I am initiate in the Chisti Sufi order (since 1979), and have devoted my life to creating understanding among people of different backgrounds.  Through this experience, which dominated my life for a dozen years, and still informs my heart and mind, I have found that every religion is from Allah.  Every religion derives from direct connection between a human mind and its Creator.   Many  saints and prophets have made this connection, and they all preached the same lessons.
Islam, the submission to the will of Allah, is the same as the Christians&#039; desire to &#039;follow in the footsteps of Christ&#039;, or the Buddhist&#039;s desire to &#039;attain the Void.&#039;
As God/Allah is ALIVE, and is The Only Being, we are only alive in union with that ONE.  So any attacks by member of one faith upon another, are like cutting off your arm.
Politically, I understand that global politics is part of the evil that we live with.  BUT: members of every faith who believe that God/Allah is ONE, must confront and disarm those who believe that armed conflict is a mandate from Heaven.
Until we keep order in our own houses, and perform the Greater Jihad within ourselves, we need to work on that, instead of world domination.  To all Muslims:  Educate your children in both religions.  And in both religion and science.  Teach them how what Isa said is like what Mohammed said.  Teach them that politics has corrupted both religions, and that a true Muslim is a warrior of peace.  Teach them to read scripture in the original, and translate the concepts of peace into modern language.
Most Christians and Jews have allowed Biblical history to BE history, updating the actual teachings of the prophets in their daily life.  Care for the homeless and the hungry, do not steal, lie, kill, etc., love each other and support each other in community.   Europe went through some terrible times, as the separation of church and state became a reality, and dogmatic wars were replaced by religious tolerance.  I pray daily that this time is almost over for Islam.

		<description>Dear renee, Muslims do not dislike Jesus but they love him, not as the son of God, but as a messenger of God. Please could you educate yourself a bit more on Islam? I&#039;m sure you would then ask more logical questions.

		<description>I am sure  there are  many Muslims  who are concerned about what this tragedy  will evoke.  I agree with Bob A.  I have seen VERY little in regard to the level-headed, sincere  Muslims making overt statements, marches or whatever it might take for them to show the rest of the world how they condemn these insane individuals and the groups who do these tragic things in the name of  the Muslim religion.  I don&#039;t like to be anti any cultural group,  but there does not seem to be a concerted effort    from the Muslims  who  are also abhorred  by these tragic events to let others know just how abhorred they are!   Why aren&#039;t we hearing about the groups of Muslims who are  working to help identify the radicals.  We don&#039;t need names.  We just need to hear that the Muslim community is doing all it can to help catch, eradicate these  inhumane people.  We need specific  press  that shows how much you are doing.  I had a very dear Muslim friend who went back to Egypt.  I miss her.  I know there is good.  Perhaps I am just naive.  Perhaps people will wonder where  have I been not to be more aware.  I am a typical American, so I believe if I am not in the know...... there are many just like me.   Make your efforts known!      </description>

		<description>I agree with Assalam,
I don&#039;t agree with all of your views but believe you speak with a measure of reason that may be beneficial to us all. You have to get, and get your followers to be more outspoken about those that are bringing the image of Islam down. I will admit that I am very anti-Islamist. Send me anything you may wish posted on my site(s).
Bob A.
