Certainly the dust has not settled over the massacre in Fort Hood, and we still have more questions than we have answers, but I have to admit I’m getting tired of the whole commentary on the issue of scary Muslims out to destroy Americans.  In no way do I want to diminish the very real horror wrought upon the victims of this tragedy, I’m just venting my frustration at the commentary from the usual suspects.  Let’s be honest, there are those out there that will comment on the negative about Muslims and Islam in general no matter what.  Incidents such as the Ft. Hood tragedy, just gives them an opportunity to come out of hiding for a moment or two.  They post on this blog, on other blogs, and are generally everywhere on the net where the topic of Ft. Hood has been brought up.  But the reality is they live for their internet soldiering if you will, as evidenced by many of the same posters ensuring they get the last word on how “evil” Islam is, by posting multiple times with the same exact point as their first comments.  Some have created websites or rather fan sites where they get together for this very purpose; you know which ones I’m talking about….

I have been dwelling on this for quite some time, and I guess it wasn’t until I was asked a question in an interview yesterday about my views on the coverage of on the news thus far that I decided to blog on my feelings.  Now I never claimed to be PC and I’m certain my opinions are going to piss some people off and give them ample ammunition to attribute ideas, feelings, thoughts, etc. I don’t actually have based on my rantings, improper grammar, etc. on this blog (how about that run-on sentence) but let’s be honest, this is really just one big game to some of them.

There is obviously an agenda that at its core I believe exists; a xenophobic fear of the “other”.  I’m willing to bet that the majority of the anti-Muslim crowd are also members of the anti-gay crowd, anti-immigrant crowd, etc. they probably believe Obama is secretly a Muslim, wasn’t born in the US, and is a socialist as well.  I’m also willing to put it out there that the majority of these critics probably define themselves as “conservative” and probably rarely if ever voted for a “liberal” or “progressive” or even a “moderate” candidate.  The most controversial of my points is that many of these anti-Muslim/Islam critics are probably Caucasian.  I know, I know, accuse me of the “race card” for making an obvious point that we all know is probably true….

My point is not to call anyone racist, because I think that’s done to death and it’s not categorically true in most cases, but I do believe that some of these critics just deep down are not comfortable with people who believe, opine, vote, live, etc. like them.

This particular category of people represents a bloc that is a cash cow for the puppet masters.  Think about it, these types of people are so committed to believe that Muslims are all secretly out to get them and our religion inherently teaches us to do it, that they go out and pay for book after book, go to site after website, and pay people time and time again to come to their churches, social groups, schools, etc. just to say the same things over and over again.  Yes, we get it, Islam was created in essence to destroy non-Muslims, Muslims spend most of their time plotting to kill non-Muslims, we plan to take over the West some day, and Muslims like me are secretly in league with terrorists, blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda…  The puppet masters know they can make a great deal of cash by exploiting these types so they jump on every incident concerning a Muslim in the negative of course, like flies on…well you know what…just to in essence say “I told you so” that way the anti-Muslim crowd can somehow feel validated in their illogical conclusion that over 1 billion people are secretly plotting to get them!  The puppet masters get extra brownie points and extra credentials if they are a “former” Muslim, someone who claims to have studied Islam, and are really good at cherry picking out of the Qur’an, Hadith, and Islamic history to prove their points, to their non-Muslim audience who will most likely never get off the couch, go to Google, a library, or ask an actual Muslim about any of this “evidence”.  These puppet masters are so clever that they play on the illogical charade so well, that they can get otherwise rationale adults to never actually consider that maybe just maybe the people who actually practice the religion may believe otherwise than these “former” Muslims and so-called scholars.  However, it’s not just the puppet masters who are responsible but it’s their loyal subjects who are intellectually too lazy to investigate these claims and in truth, many don’t even have the desire because they made up their minds way before they bought that first book or listened to the first “commentator” on Fox News.  They just seek each day for those people, and only those people, who can validate their ideas, so they can say I told you so, and those “former” Muslims are a hot commodity.  Who better to validate a claim against Islam than someone who supposedly practiced the religion before seeing “the light”?

Imagine if I and a bunch of other “former” Christians started a website cherry picking around the Bible and Christian History and started stating some of the easily and equally damning things about Christianity that is said about Islam?  I mean I could start in Genesis all the way through Revelation misquoting and cherry picking verses, throw in the crusades, inquisition, colonization, trans-Atlantic slave trade, etc. all the way up to the modern era for “proof” and have a field day talking about how Christianity is this or that.  I would be an idiot, if I did it, but I could and sound just as credible as the anti-Muslim idiots in my doing so, but of course there isn’t a market for anti-Christian venom now is there?

Here’s my main point without making my readers suffer from yet another 2000 plus word incoherent rant:

The majority of these anti-Muslim types have more to reason to fear stubbing their toe on a coffee table that being “attacked” by a Muslim.  I mean let’s be honest and take the gloves off, yes we had 9/11 and other incidents of great horror and tragedy right here in America, many more were foiled as plots were discovered and culprits readily apprehended.  However, in the majority of these situations especially 9/11 the culprits are foreign nationals or some other way schemed the system, kind of like the millions of pounds of narcotics that somehow end up in the inner city streets of America or the millions of illegal immigrants working in America, but that’s another topic for another day.  Other than that, it’s probably not likely that the 2 million plus American Muslims are going to go to war or attack anyone.  I mean even when the NOI was major news decades ago and you had all those “scary” black Muslims making white America pee their collective pants, nothing ever happened to anyone.  Muslims have lived in America for decades some navigating for Colonists, some arriving in chains, some immigrated, some started movements, etc. without incident until recently, so odds are the likely hood of small town America being forced to “covert or die” to Islam is slim to none.

I have to admit, I do find it funny when I turn on the news, go to these sites, and read these comments (why do you think I approve them) as see or hear yet another white person freaking out about the “danger” of Islam and how incidents validate the very real threat.

I think this is comical for one simple reason:  If anyone has anything to fear from “radical” “extremist” “terrorist” etc. Muslims its actual Muslims.  It is not your average “Joe six pack” American, sitting in the comfort of their home watching Fox News and complaining about what’s wrong in the world.  It’s not your average white Christian who faithfully participates in their church and is a good American somewhere in Middle America.  It’s not Robert, Becky, John, Jeff, or Jessica, the ones who most have to fear their lives every second of every day is Hakeem, Aisha, Fatima, Abdullah, etc. etc. in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Somalia, Sudan, etc. etc. etc.  These MUSLIMS everyday live with the very REAL fear that they may die doing the very things that all these anti-Muslims who are terrified do every day, you know like trying to go to school, go to the market, look for a job, or go to your place of worship.

“Terrorists” have killed more Muslims to date than any American white, black, etc. Military, Civilian, or otherwise.  You can throw all of the Western world into the equation and still MUSLIMS are killed, threatened, maimed, and have more to actually fear from these radicals than any non-Muslim any day hands down!

Yet, I’m supposed to go out and buy these books, go to these sites or what and/or listen to my favorite “Conservative” program and be scared out of my mind about all the Muslims out to get me, primarily because they hate my “way of life”!!!!! LOL!!!

There are Muslim women right now in Sudan who can’t even go get water without the fear of being raped by “Muslims”.  There are Muslim women right now in Afghanistan who are afraid to get an education because they may be killed or get acid thrown in their faces, there are Muslim men, women, and children in Iraq, Pakistan, etc. who are terrified that just going to get some groceries they may get blown up in a suicide bombing.  Even Mosques are not safe from this terror.

YET, with all the real fear that these MUSLIMS have of death unparalleled in comparison to your freaked out commentator on this or that blog, website, book, TV or radio program decrying the evils of Islam, they never once blame Islam, they never once question their faith in Islam, and they still consider themselves practicing Muslims.

Don’t you find it strange that somehow those who have the most to fear from “Muslims” refuse to equate their fears to the very religion they actually practice?  Don’t you find it weird that even given all their real daily challenges and fears, they will still state the Islam is in fact a religion of Peace?

Maybe it’s just me, but I would think that if Islam was exactly as many of the detractors claim it is, there wouldn’t be 1 billion plus Muslims, nor would there be a minimum so many Muslims prevalent in the places where these atrocities no less severe than our recent atrocity, but committed daily in those places?

I know, I know, Robert is crazy, because if you listen to your favorite “expert” non-Muslim, “former” Muslim, etc.  1 billion of us are actually very ignorant of the religion we practice every day, only these non-Muslims and of course the terrorists, know the “true meaning of Islam”!  LOL

Has anybody ever wondered why it appears that the non-Muslim critics of Islam and the terrorist Muslims agree so much on what Islam “truly” means?

Just saying…..

(For the record, this rant is not my usual 2000+ it’s actually 1950 words) :)
